The stars of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus 8" are splitting up after ten years of marriage.  Reality TV parents Jon and Kate Gosselin filed for divorce Monday at the Bucks County Courthouse in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  The couple announced the split on last night's heavily-promoted episode of their show. The announcement follows months of speculation about the couple's marriage being on the rocks.  Last month, the show's fifth season premiere found the Gosselins admitting to having marital problems. Reports that trouble was brewing in the Gosselin household surfaced earlier this year when tabloids published photos of Jon hanging out with several young women.  The scandal took another turn in May when 23-year-old Deanna Hummel was photographed driving Jon's car home after a late night of partying, and last week, reports surfaced that the father of eight was scouting out living accommodations in New York City.  Jon recently told People.com that he wanted a less high-profile life.  Kate, meantime, by several accounts, appears to remain committed to their life in front of the cameras.

The father of Britney Spears' children reportedly owes a pretty hefty amount in back taxes.  The "Detroit News" reports Kevin Federline is behind 14-thousand-371-dollars in federal taxes.  The money due stems from Federline's company Gooseneck Productions Inc., which was created to channel his own creative projects.  Court records showed last year that the company spent over 840-thousand-dollars and made only 544-thousand.  Last month, IRS filed a 14-thousand-371-dollar lien against Gooseneck in the Los Angeles County Recorder of Deeds. Earlier this year Federline reached a financial agreement with Britney Spears regarding the custody of their two sons while she treks through Europe on her "Circus" tour.  The deal allows Spears to bring their kids along with her so long as she pays Federline five-thousand-dollars a week so he can rent homes wherever she is performing.

Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to felony assault charges.  The 20-year-old Brown appeared in a Los Angeles Superior Court house Monday to face charges related to a February assault incident involving his girlfriend-at-the time, Barbados-born singer Rihanna.  Judge Patricia Schnegg addressed the singer regarding the charges. Brown was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to perform 180 days of hard labor in his home state of Virginia.  He must also stay 50 yards away from Rihanna who was also at the courthouse for yesterday's hearing, but did not enter the courtroom at the same time as Brown.  When it comes to the two attending the same public event, the judge ordered Brown to stay at least ten yards away from Rihanna.  The distance orders will last through the next five years.  If Brown violates his probation, he faces up to four years in prison.  While Rihanna's Lawyer, Donald Etra, asked for the judge not to issue the stay away, Schnegg said she felt it was necessary in this case.  Schnegg went on to say it was "commendable" of Brown to take responsibility for his actions.

"Spin" magazine is celebrating 25 years of Prince's hit album and film "Purple Rain."  In the special July issue of the magazine that hits newsstands today, a CD of artists covering Prince's classic songs has been included.  Titled "Purplish Rain," the record includes Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Apollonia and Lavender Diamond.  Billboard.com reported previously that all the artists agreed to be involved in the project for free to help pay tribute to Prince's "Purple Rain."  "Spin" magazine's editor-in-chief Doug Brod said, quote, "All these bands did it for free - they paid for all of their recording time and they mastered all the tracks themselves."  Prince himself is not involved in the special issue.  Inside the pages of "Spin," a special article gives a detailed oral history of "Purple Rain."  The movie was released in 1984 to showcase Prince's talents.  The soundtrack also titled "Purple Rain" has been listed by the RIAA has having gone platinum 13 times.

A serious feud between the Black Eyed Peas and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton appears to be building.  Hilton alleges that the group's manager, Polo Molina, punched him numerous times outside of a Toronto nightclub on Sunday night.  Hilton posted a video blog on his website Monday morning discussing the incident and calling Peas frontman will.i.am "a liar" for denying the alleged assault. Perez Hilton and the Black Eyed Peas attended the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday night.  According to Hilton's video blog, he was approached at an afterparty by Black Eyed Peas member Fergie who asked him why he always criticizes her.  Hilton claims the two resolved their issues, but says he later ran into an angry will.i.am at another afterparty.  Hilton admits to exchanging some heated words with the emcee, but says he left the party without incident.  The blogger alleges, however, that Will and his manager, Polo Molina, followed him outside and proceeded to punch him in the head. TMZ.com is reporting that Molina has since turned himself in to authorities as Toronto police reportedly refused to let the Black Eyed Peas leave Canada until he was in custody.  The manager has been charged with assault.  Hilton reportedly plans on pursuing charges against him.  Will.i.am has since released a video blog of his own claiming that Hilton's story is false.

Beyonce fans got more than they bargained for when the pop diva kicked off the North American leg of her "I AM..." tour in New York City Sunday night.  MTV News reports that the singer's husband, rapper Jay-Z, joined her on the Madison Square Garden stage to perform a medley of their hits "Crazy in Love" and "I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)" before the screaming crowd.  But Jay Z soon handed over the spotlight to his wife who went on to perform hits such as "Baby Boy," "Bootylicious" and "Halo."  When it came time to sing her recent hit "Single Ladies," Beyonce featured a series of fan-made videos of people imitating her own dance moves to the tune.  One of the clips, showed on a big screen behind the stage, included the infamous Justin Timberlake "Saturday Night Live" skit where the pop star donned a leotard and heels to bust out the Beyonce-style moves.

Fans turning out to see the first gig on the Jonas Brother's world tour received a treat Saturday night in the form of Miley Cyrus.  "Entertainment Tonight" reports the teen queen showed up for a surprise duet with youngest brother Nick during the Dallas, Texas show.  The two took the stage together to sing "Before the Storm" in front of the sold out audience.  In recent weeks, Miley and Nick, both 16, have been rumored to be reconnecting on a romantic level.  The Disney starlets dated previously but broke up in 2007. The Jonas Brothers will take the stage tomorrow night in Denver, Colorado.  They'll go on to play a series of North American dates before heading to Europe in October.  The tour supports their recently released album "Lines, Vines & Trying Times."

Thousands of wannabe "American Idols" spent their weekend lining up in the Windy city, hoping to wow judges with their vocal talents.  The "Chicago Tribune" reports around 12-thousand people lined up outside of Chicago's United Center today to audition for the upcoming season of the Fox reality singing show.  Some contestants showed up as early as midnight to wait in line for their turn to sing.  Those picked to move forward today will return to Chicago later this summer for two more rounds of auditions.  The first will take place before the show's executive producers while the next round will take place in front of "Idol" judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and newcomer Kara DioGuardi.  The audition sessions currently making rounds across the country are for "Idol's" upcoming ninth season, set to premiere in January 2010.  Season eight just wrapped up with Kris Allen winning the competition.

The woman accused of trespassing on Britney Spears' southern California property is headed back to a Los Angeles courthouse today.  Twenty-six-year-old Miranda Tozier-Robbins is scheduled to enter her plea today after she showed up two hours late to her initial court date last week.  Last Tuesday, June 16th, a judge ordered the defendant to stay 100 yards away from both Spears and her Calabasas, California home.  The judge also waived Tozier-Robbins' five-thousand-dollar bail last week, providing she shows up to her court date today. Tozier-Robbins was arrested last month after security guards found her skulking around Spears' property.  She claimed to be a student at the Art Institute of California and said she was simply trying to create a "Paparazzi 101" type video.

Jessica Simpson officially has a new reality television show in the works.  Confirming tentative reports a few weeks ago, Usmagazine.com now says the 28-year-old pop-country singer will indeed host a new documentary-series titled "The Price of Beauty."  The show will air on VH1.  It will feature Simpson traveling around the world to discover how people measure beauty.  As well as talking with people, Simpson will also take part in some of the unusual rituals that various cultures use to make themselves "beautiful."  Simpson says she is excited to take part in the show as she has always believed beauty comes from within.  The singer said, quote, "I know we will all learn a lot on this journey and I am so excited that VH1 is coming along on what I'm sure will be a wild ride."  Shooting is slated to begin next month with the show debuting sometime next year. Simpson's involvement in "The Price of Beauty" comes on the heels of her own public scrutiny over her weight gain.  The tabloids splashed pictures of Simpson earlier this year sporting a curvier figure.  Many celebrities jumped to the singer's defense.

Police apparently had to tell Lindsay Lohan to pipe down on Saturday night.  According to TMZ.com, Los Angeles Police Department gave the actress a ticket in the early hours of Sunday morning for being too noisy.  Residents in the Hollywood Hills area where Lohan resides reportedly called the cops at about 4:20 a.m.  The police told Lohan to turn down the loud music and gave her an "excessive noise" ticket.

Ailing actress Farrah Fawcett is reportedly back in the hospital.  People.com quotes a source for the former "Charlie's Angels" TV star who says Fawcett has been hospitalized for at least two weeks.  The 62-year-old actress is battling cancer.  The source says Fawcett was supposed to be released last week and was going home, but, quote, "things changed."  Publicist Arnold Robinson tells People.com that the actress is "still being treated for her condition."  Fawcett  was first diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006.  She recently chronicled her battle with the disease in the documentary "Farrah's Story" that aired on NBC last month. Fawcett's longtime partner Ryan O'Neal told Barbara Walters in a "20/20" interview set to air this Friday that he recently asked Fawcett to marry him again, and she agreed.  The couple has been dating for almost 30 years.  They have one son together, 24-year-old Redmond.

Actor Johnny Depp is going mad for "Alice in Wonderland."  The Examiner.com reports Depp has signed on to portray the Mad Hatter in the upcoming Tim Burton film based on the 1865 novel by Lewis Carroll.  The film is slated to be released in 3D on March 5th, 2010 in special IMAX theaters.  British actress Helena Bonham Carter will play the Queen of Hearts while Anne Hathaway will portray the White Queen.  Taking the role of Alice herself is rising Australian star Mia Wasikowska.  The 19-year-old was most recently featured in the Daniel Craig flick "Defiance."  Depp and Burton previously teamed up to remake Burton's version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."  Depp will be seen next playing infamous gangster John Dillinger in the new Michael Mann drama "Public Enemies."  The Los Angeles Film Festival will host the film's red carpet premiere tonight.  "Public Enemies" opens nationwide on July 1st.

Actress Megan Fox wants to make it up to a young fan after she turned her back on his rose.  The "Transformers" star opened up to Collider.com about a photograph that surfaced showing a frantic young boy trying desperately to hand her a yellow rose during last week's London premiere of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."  The picture shows Fox simply walking by the rose-wielding youngster and marching down the red carpet.  Fox says if anyone knows the boy's name, she will send him a personal apology.  The highly anticipated "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" hits theaters nationwide this Wednesday, June 24th.  Fox stars in the action flick alongside Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.

Scott Storch's rollercoaster ride through the music world will be the subject of a new reality show.  The troubled music producer just signed a deal with Bunim/Murray, the production team behind MTV's longrunning "The Real World" and "Road Rules" reality series.  The yet-untitled show will take a look at how Storch -- who has produced hits for Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera -- creates tunes in the studio.  Storch's legal and personal problems are also expected to be showcased.  No word on when the show is expected to air, or what network will pick it up.  Scott Storch was recently ordered to pay a former associate 750-thousand dollars over a joint corporation that never materialized.  He was also charged with grand theft auto in April for failing to return a leased Bentley.  Last year, the producer faced legal problems when he reportedly failed to pay over 46-thousand dollars in child support.
