Who Am I Endorsing For President?
|
Unfortunately, because I am in the media, I cannot tell you who I would like to be the next president. I could, but the laws make it so I'd have to actually have to make it open for others to endorse the other candidates on our website. So I will not name names, but if you are informed and know enough about the candidates, you'll figure it out. Then again, the way I feel about my candidate may be exactly how you feel about yours, and they may be different people. As long as we all vote, it doesn't really matter.
I did not chose my candidate based on experience, or who their husband is, or what their military history is. I did not choose them to be trendy. I didn't pick them because George Clooney or Oprah or Sylvester Stallone endorsed them. I chose my candidate based on how I feel when I see them speak. And when I hear the things they say, and the things they write, I am completely enamored with them. I relate to this person, even though I porbably am nothing like them. Or am I? I have seen the masses respond to this person like no one I have ever seen with my own eyes. I've heard stories, but they were before my time. This person gives me hope that my life can be better. My life isn't bad, but just like everyone else, I need hope that there is still room for improvement. With gas prices becoming almost unaffordable for the average person we need hope. When riding a bike to work is an option not to be more environmental, it's a way to live a little better each day, we need hope. When we all have mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends overseas fighting a battle that we thought we wanted, but no longer agree with, we need hope. We need somone who makes us feel like it's all gonna work out. And this person makes me feel that way. They make me feel as though they will not sleep so that we all can. They would starve so we could eat. They would walk so we could drive our cars. I feel like this person loves this country as much as I do.
Whether or not he makes that much of a difference (I believe he will) is irrelevant. It's the promise of a new day we all want. Just hope. That's it. It goes even beyond hope. It renews our faith in ourselves that we can select a leader that will be what we want this country to be. We have the honor of being able to govern ourselves. But we lost the faith in ourselves sometime ago. And it's not faith in our leader, because our leader is a reflection of us for the most part. It's faith that we can make the right decision. And we will. This country is founded upon a belief whose main critera is faith. Not about upholding laws from societies in years past. Throughout history times have changed, laws, have changed, and people have changed. But faith has remained the same. Have faith in whomever you vote for. Have faith that the next president will make our lives better. As for me, I already have faith in my candidate. And I have faith that they will lead us as best as possible. And I have hope that tomorrow will be better than today. And I can't wait to get to sleep so tomorrow comes sooner.
