Progressive artist Alice Gatewood Waddell is spearheading an art project reusing junk. Waddell would like small to medium sized items for this unique undertaking. Items such as plastic bottles and tops, CDs, egg crates, computer wiring, plastic toys, jewelry – junk of any kind - can be donated at the Graham Drive Community Branch at 305 Graham Drive.
“Have you ever looked at an object and wondered what it could be if it wasn't what it is,” asks Waddell. “Junk Sculptures will give new life and new form to things tossed away.”
This after-school activity takes place at the Graham Drive Community Branch on August 20 and 27, and September 3 and 10. The complete art exhibit will be held on Saturday, September 13th with a reception for participants and public from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
