My Last Comic Standing Experience

So you may have heard Monday that I was trying out for the NBC show Last Comic Standing.  So I felt it only fair to talk avout my experience.  I learned alot from the audition process and alot about the entertainment business, particularly reality television.  I stood in line for 7 hours waiting to do my best material.  When I finally got to audition, it was in front of a producer and I was there with 9 other people.  Now I am not saying I was the funniest, but my audition was the tightest.  Other comedians who were saying they had opened up for big names, and I'm not syaing they hadn't, didn't live up to their own personal hype.  Also, waiting in line with a bunch of people trying to prove how funny they are can be a bit draining.

After it was all over, I kind of found out a litttle more.  It seems the comedians with a real shot at being on th show had appointments and didn't have to stand in line.  The line was, as I also found out, just to find interesting people to be on television.  Now that may make some people mad, but after seeing the show that night, I know I had no chance.  These comedians were not just good, they were great.  They were funny and polished and if by some mireacle, I had made it there, I would have gotten creamed.  So I learned what I need to have if I want to do more with my comedy.  And I learned how entertaining people who think they are more talented than they are can really be.  I have no regrets.  I may even go next year.  But do look for me on television and watch the show.  There are some hilarious people.  Now here are some pictures for you.  If you have any questions or anything to add, feel free to email me at greg@allhitwuhu107.com.  On a side note, I am going to be heading a comedy class in April.  It is through Community Ed, so if you are interested, I'll have more info in the coming weeks.  Hey, maybe we can get a scene in BG and then next year, we can bypass the line.
