· Crazy teachers starting the school year off right…In Jackson, MS, sixth-grade teacher Roshondra Sipp is in hot water after she had the insane idea to have her students vote in class on who among them would be most likely to die young, get pregnant while still in school, get HIV or go to jail. She then posted the results in the class which of course outraged the parents of the kids who made the list. (What happened to “Best Smile, Best Laugh, Social Butterfly” and stuff like that?)
· In Toms River, NJ, 36 year-old Edward Defreitas was recently arrested and accused of causing a three-vehicle collision that injured two men in a car and sent two paramedics riding in an ambulance to the hospital. Ed actually admitted to police that he had been drinking but said he had decided to drive around until he sobered up. He explained that he was afraid to go home and have his mother smell alcohol on his breath. (Dude, you’ve got bigger issues than drinking if you are still living with your mom and afraid to drink because of her, how old are you again?)
· Saving the best for last…In Salinas, CA a car thief lost the Chevy Silverado he had just stolen to a carjacker after pulling into a 7-eleven to get gas. A 33 year-old man told police he stole the pickup Saturday then, while sitting outside the convenience store, a man with a gun hopped in and ordered him to start driving. The pickup ran out of gas and the gunman then ordered him to get out and push, but he managed to get away and call police. |
