  • Why. Oh why do people do dumb, illegal things and then post it online for the world (including law enforcement) to see. In Xenia, OH, a Burger King employee was fired for taking a bubble bath in a utility sink in one of its chain restaurants. Nobody probably ever would have been the wiser if Mr. Dimwit hadn’t had a co-worker video tape the incident and post the four-minute video on his My Space page. In the video the employee refers to himself only as “Mr. Unstable” and appears to be naked. Turns out, he’s really 25 year-old Timothy Tackett who later said he regretted the stunt because it led not only to his firing, but the firing of the employee who had video-taped the event and the shift manager as well. Timothy said he took the bath to celebrate his birthday. Burker King says they’ve already sterilized the sink repeatedly.
  • In Baltimore, MD convicted drug dealer Marcus Anderson was late arriving at the pick-up point for the regular prison van scheduled to take him to court. So instead, the Corrections Department put him in a regular van, one without a prisoner cage and whose driver had no gun, handcuffs, phone or radio. As a result, Anderson took full advantage of his “good fortune” and simply opened the van door and walked off into downtown Baltimore. And exasperated Judge Charles Bernstein later asked whether the driver had given him bus tokens, too and added, “I f I were a young enterprising criminal, I’d come to Baltimore to set up my practice. This is the place to be. This is the Promised Land.”
  • It’s always a good idea to have a designated driver, bad idea for it to be a 12 year-old. Last Wednesday, 35 year-old Jennifer Rosenberg of Longview, TX, was too drunk to drive. So in order to celebrate her birthday with her friends, Jennifer had her 12 year-old daughter drive her to a nearby bar. But Jennifer’s daughter returned home, a Longview police officer noticed as she turned into her driveway without signaling then slowly bumped into the house. The police officer pulled over and talked to the girl and she explained to him why she was driving. Then the officer headed over to the bar and arrested Jennifer. Jennifer has been charged with child endangerment, and is being held $2,500. If she’s convicted, she could get up to 20 years in prison.
