- In Norfolk, VA, farmer Marlon Brooks has been struggling to come up with a scarecrow scary enough to keep the pigeons away from his sugar beet crops. Then he got creative and came up with one so terrifying, so disturbing, he says its been working like a charm. His new scarecrow is modeled after singer Amy Winehouse, complete with her trademark beehive and tattoo, and clutching a cigarette and a bottle of booze. The new scarecrow has worked so well that Marlon thinks May should win an award for “her services to the farming industry.” Marlon says “Every farmer needs an Amy scarecrow.”
- A 14 year-old girl from San Diego’s Mount Miguel High School is suing her choir teacher because the woman called her an “ugly brat: before kicking her out of a classroom. Jade Ray wants $75,000 in damages because she “suffered physical pain and emotional distress.” She says she was so traumatized that she had to switch schools. “She kicked me out the door. I said ‘did you just kick me’, and she said ‘yah’, I said ‘why’, she said ‘because you weren’t moving fast enough’, then she slammed the door in my face.” No word on what disciplinary actions the school has taken, if any.
- 30 year-old landlord Richard Ott of Newark, NJ, was angry that his tenants had not paid their rent. So he allegedy crashed his Hummer into their home and then attempted to kick the door down. Even though it was his property, he know faces charges of attempted burglary, harassment, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, failure to report an accident and endangering the welfare of the three occupants of the home. The tenants, a 50 year-old man, and his 53 year-old wife, awoke around 2:30am to a loud crash. The looked outside to see “headlights shining into the bedroom” and quickly went to check on their 6 year-old son sleeping on a separate bedroom. As the woman was on the phone, calling 911, Ott allegedly shouted, “Tell the police it’s the landlord that tore up the building.” He then fled the scene, according to police, leaving a footprint on the door.
