Chris Kelly's One & Only Fifth Blog!

Hey guys! Hope all is well for you ... as it is for me. We've been busy here at WUHU and there are some exciting things going on right now, like Dancing with Bowling Green's Own Season 2 and the triumphant return of the Song of the Day!
Be sure and join us at WKU's DUC Theater on April 26th from 5-7pm for all the fun and festivities as we raise some money for 13-year old Robert of Morgantown. Ticket and event info are here on the website, and all the money (ALL includes ticket sales, auction winner bids, pictures of you and one of BG's own superstar dancers that you can purchase at the event ... EVERYTHING!) goes directly to granting Robert's wish! Thanks in advance to everyone who attends, WBKO, Make-a-Wish, WKU, Dynamic Dance, Klein Consulting, Michelle's Consignment Boutique, and all the people who are helping to make this happen!
Speaking of money, you can win some of your very own by picking up your Song of the Day calendar at our sponsor locations. Then, just listen up for each day's SOD and if you're the seventh caller, you win! Getting paid to listen to WUHU ... how amazing is that? And, if you join the WUHU workforce, you'll get a hot tip on the approximate time the SOD will play and have an even better chance of winning that day's loot! WOO-HOO!!!
OK, so you might have noticed the picture of Kristy Lee Cook, the most recent departee (word check, anyone?) from American Idol. Now, you might recall in an earlier blog, I picked Carly Smithson and Chikezie as my male and female choices to win. But, I've gotta tell ya, now that Kristy Lee Cook has been eliminated, my reasons for watching Idol are now down to 1 (still rooting for Carly, although she started really strong but has cooled off a bit lately). Honestly, does it even matter who wins this thing anymore? As Chris Daughtry, Kellie Pickler, Elliott Yamin and Jennifer Hudson have shown us, you don't have to win it all to become a huge star. And as Ruben, Fantasia and Taylor Hicks have proven, winning doesn't guarantee superstardom. Sure, they got record deals and have had some success, but, if the goal was to be the next music megastar (that is the goal, right?), I'm sure all three would trade winning for the big-time success that has eluded them so far. Back to Kristy Lee, I think she definitely has a shot at making it big, or at least semi-big, if she chooses to go the country music route. It seems like there are a lot of bright-eyed, blonde young 'uns down in Nashville these days (Taylor, Kellie, Carrie, Miranda, Bucky, etc.), and I think she has the sound and the look to fit in with some of those young ladies (and Bucky). Think I'm right? Think I'm wrong? Let me know by shooting an e-mail at me at chris@allhitwuhu107.com.
Til next time ... God bless.
