So if you’ve ever eaten in a restaurant here in the States, chances are it had some type of theme to it. Americans love theme restaurants, from Cracker Barrel to TGI Fridays, there’s just something about a wall covered in nostalgia that we love!
Well guess what, theme restaurants are loved worldwide and a new one just opened up in Beirut, Lebanon. The name of this new theme restaurant, “Buns and Guns.”
“Buns and Guns” is not your typical family-friendly burger joint. The theme of that restaurant is terrorism. Yes, terrorism! For an added kick, their motto is “A sandwich can kill you.”
Wondering what its like at “Buns and Guns?” Well, instead of old street signs, bicycle wheels and photos there are weapons and ammunition decorating the wall and counters and camouflage netting hangs from the ceiling. Instead of your typical Muzak that you hear on the overhead speakers, “Buns and Guns” plays a tape, with sounds of gunfire.
What type of food can you find at “Buns and Guns?” Feel free to order yourself up a dish of “rocket-propelled grenade,” its is chicken on a skewer, with a side of “terrorist bread.” How does a heaping dish of “Kalashnikov” (Kalashnikov is a Russian assault rifle), the “Dragunov” (Dragunov is a sniper rifle with telescopic sight), the “B52” or and “RPG sandwich.” If you are unfamiliar with war, all the foods are named after military weapons.
